Simplified Coding is a registered company based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Simplified Coding is the controller, or data fiduciary, for personal data handled through this website.

Data we collect
We collect only the data needed for the features you choose to use. Depending on your activity, this may include:
- your name, email address, profile image, and Google account identifier when you sign in;
- account, session, security, and authentication records;
- email subscription details when newsletter sign-up is enabled;
- comments and reactions you submit through Giscus and GitHub;
- messages and booking details you send through Topmate or a contact channel;
- device, browser, approximate location, referral, and usage information if you allow analytics or advertising technology;
- cookie consent choices and site preferences; and
- information you choose to send us.
We do not intentionally collect payment card details on this website. A third-party service may collect information under its own policy when you follow a link to that service.
Why we use it
We use personal data to provide accounts and downloads, secure and operate the site, answer requests, deliver communications you asked for, manage comments, understand performance with permission, meet legal duties, prevent misuse, and protect our rights. We do not use personal data for a new incompatible purpose without giving appropriate notice.
Our legal reasons
Where a legal basis is required, we rely on your consent for optional cookies, newsletters, and personalised advertising; performance of a contract or steps you request for account and service features; legitimate interests in security, support, basic measurement, and improving the service where those interests do not override your rights; and compliance with law. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Services that may receive data
We use service providers only for defined purposes. These may include Google and Firebase for sign-in, hosting, databases, file storage, and AdSense where configured; GitHub and Giscus for comments; YouTube for videos; Substack for newsletters; Topmate for bookings; and analytics, security, or infrastructure providers that are enabled later. Giscus, Substack, analytics, and advertising services stay blocked until the relevant consent is given. YouTube thumbnails are delivered through our website, and the privacy-enhanced player connects to YouTube only after you choose to play a video. Each provider may also handle data under its own privacy terms.
International transfers
Some providers process data outside your country, including in India and the United States. Where required, we use recognised safeguards such as adequacy decisions, contractual protections, or another lawful transfer method.
How long we keep data
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose described here. The period depends on whether your account remains active, whether you asked us to keep communicating with you, security and backup needs, and legal record-keeping duties. We delete or anonymise data when it is no longer needed. Other services control their own retention periods.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, update, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your data. You may object to certain uses, withdraw consent, unsubscribe from marketing, and complain to your local data protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for using a privacy right. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
We do not sell personal data for money. Optional advertising and cross-context tracking remain off unless you consent. You can withdraw that choice at any time through Cookie settings. Where supported and legally required, we also treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request to keep advertising tracking off.
Children
The educational content is suitable for a general audience, but the service is not directed to children under 13. A child who cannot legally consent to data processing in their country should use account, newsletter, comment, or booking features only with permission from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child provided personal data without valid permission, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including secure session cookies and access controls. No online service can promise absolute security. Please use a secure Google account and tell us if you suspect misuse.
Changes
We may update this policy when the site, providers, or law changes. We will post the new date here and provide a clearer notice when a change materially affects your rights.
